Metal Jacketing and Fittings
Johns Manville offers aluminum and stainless steel jacketing, sheets, and elbows to protect thermal insulation used in a variety of applications. Our products are recognized in the industry under the brand names of Pabco and Childers Metals. In addition to metal jacketing, we also distribute stainless steel and aluminum strapping and seals, as well as installation tools.
Metal Jacketing and Fittings
Aluminum Roll Jacketing is the premier protective outer surface for mechanical insulation systems, including pipes, vessels, and equipment. It helps protect the insulation and underlying pipe/vessel from physical damage, UV exposure, corrosive environments, and water. JM's Aluminum jacketing (also called cladding) is available in smooth, stucco embossed, and 3/16" corrugated (cross-crimped) finishes. For larger surfaces, box-rib and deep corrugated sheets are also available. Our Aluminum Jacketing has a bare outer surface and comes standard with a 3-mil thick polyfilm moisture barrier heat-laminated to the interior surface to help prevent corrosion of the jacketing and the underlying metal pipe, vessel, or equipment.
Stainless Steel Roll Jacketing is manufactured from T-304 and T-316 prime grade Stainless Steels. These alloys comply with ASTM A-240 and are supplied with a dull finish for reduced glare. The yield strength is 30,000-45,000 PSI, and the tensile strength is 75,000-110,000 PSI. These alloys are of a special soft-annealed temper, for ease in fabrication. T-304 is normally used in all except the most corrosive areas, where T-316 is recommended. The melt point of our 300 Series Stainless Steel is 2500°F, making it an excellent solution for fire protection.
Painted Aluminum Roll Jacketing has a factory-applied, baked-on finish of highly durable hard film acrylic or polyester paint on the exterior surface. This finish provides improved aesthetics, color-coding, increased emittance, and improved corrosion protection for the aluminum jacketing. Painted Aluminum Roll Jacketing can be used on pipes, tanks, and equipment insulation systems. The special paints used on this jacketing are chalk and fade resistant. They exhibit better resistance to oxidation and to the effects of various corrosive environments than bare aluminum jacketing. This painted surface also resists water and fingerprint staining.
Muffl-Jac® sound barrier jacketing is a sound barrier jacketing used with both fibrous and closed-cell insulation materials as a path control form of acoustic treatment. It is made from a special high density, composite film laminated to 0.020” aluminum, using a viscoelastic film adhesive. It simultaneously absorbs, dampens, blocks, and isolates sounds, reducing noise levels radiated by piping and equipment. Standard 1 lb Muffl-Jac sound barrier jacketing is available in 0.020” aluminum with a stucco embossed finish. Rolls are 36" wide and 36' length (108 sq. ft.).
Aluminum Deep Corrugated Sheets are available in two nominal corrugation profiles, with bare or painted exterior surface, and in smooth or stucco embossed surface finishes. The corrugation profiles are engineered to provide strength and stiffness superior to that of standard aluminum jacketing. Aluminum Deep Corrugated Sheets are a premier protective outer surface for mechanical insulation systems on flat surfaces, large equipment, towers, vessels, and vertical cylindrical tanks with an outer diameter larger than 8 ft. Aluminum Deep Corrugated Sheets help protect the insulation and underlying surface from physical damage, UV exposure, corrosive environments, and water.
Deep Corrugated Sheets are available in Aluminum, Stainless Steel and Painted Aluminum. They provide protection for insulated equipment, towers, vessels, and tanks with outside diameters of 8' or more. Deep Corrugated Sheets are available in 1 1/4" (30mm) and 2 1/2" (64mm) corrugations. The 1 1/4" corrugations have a depth of 1/4", and the 2 1/2" corrugations have a depth of 5/8". They are available in a smooth finish, painted, or stucco embossed pattern. They are specifically designed for weather-proofing insulation on vertical tanks and vessels, as well as providing mechanical abuse protection for the insulation.
Ell-Jacs™ Plus Polyfilm lined Aluminum Elbow Covers are made in two, precision-formed, matching halves to cover and weatherproof insulated 45° and 90° pipe elbows. Like our Aluminum Jacketing, Ell-Jacs™ Plus are a premier protective jacketing for insulation pipe systems and are a crucial accessory to complement the aluminum jacketing. Ell-Jacs™ Plus help protect the insulation and underlying pipe from physical damage, UV exposure, corrosive enviroments, and water. They also reduce the time and labor needed to install a metal jacketing system.
Each Multi-Fit Aluminum Elbow Cover is designed to fit over 90° insulation elbows with a specific outer diameter, regardless of the pipe size, use of long or short radius pipe elbows, or insulation thickness. The thirteen sizes of JM Multi-Fit Aluminum Elbow Covers will fit 111 combinations of NPS and insulation thickness up to a nominal outer insulation diameter of 12.75 inches. Like our Aluminum Jacketing, Multi-Fit Aluminum Elbow Covers are a premier protective jacketing for insulation pipe systems and are a crucial accessory to complement the aluminum jacketing. They help protect the insulation and underlying pipe from physical damage, UV exposure, corrosive enviroments, and water. They can also reduce the time and labor needed to install a metal jacketing system.
Stainless Steel Sure-Fit Insulation Elbow Covers are made in two, precision-formed matching halves and are sized to cover and weatherproof insulated 90° and 45° elbows along pipelines. They are manufactured from Type-316 Stainless Steel in .016" thickness. They can be used on long and short radius, butt weld, socket weld, and screwed pipe elbows from 1/2" to 10" Iron Pipe Size, inclusive.
The 4 X 1 Box Rib is designed with 1" high ribs on 4" centers, engineered for maximum structural stiffness. Our Box Rib Aluminum Jacketing is stucco embossed and available in thickness of .032", .040", and .050".
Galvalume® roll jacketing is manufactured from low carbon cold rolled steel that has a continuous hot dipped aluminum-zinc alloy coating applied to the outer surfaces for resistance to corrosion. The special coating is composed of 55% aluminum, 1.6% silicon, and 43.4% zinc. The finished sheet has yield strength of 38,000-53,000 psi, a tensile strength of 50,000-65,000 psi, 20-36% elongation, and a hardness of 50-65 HRB.
At JM, we offer aluminum and stainless steel strapping, butt straps, and wing seals to compliment our metal jacketing portfolio. We also offer stainless steel closed seals.
JM offers stainless steel expansion springs and compression springs made from high-quality metal alloys to help ensure that you have the tools and accessories you need for a job welldone.
