In today's fast-paced world, the automotive industry constantly seeks innovation to meet the ever-evolving demands of consumers and the environment. We are honored to have received the 2023 People's Choice Award at the SPE ACCE Conference in Novi, MI, recognizing our transformative work alongside our partners, Agesia and Aerlyte.
Our Game-Changer: Neomera® PA-6 Organosheets
So, what exactly has earned us this accolade? The game-changing innovation lies in our Neomera® PA-6 organosheets, which are incorporated into a thermoplastic composite sandwich panel. This material is then used to build revolutionary multi-piece hybrid cargo boxes. JM’s organosheets are produced using a proprietary technology based on a surface-activated glass fabric that forms a perfect bond with polymerized PA-6 (AP nylon). Agesia, a developer of high-performance manufacturing technology for
thermoplastic composite products and systems, takes these organosheets to manufacture sandwich panel floors with tremendously high load-bearing capacity and 50% weight saving over comparable standard metal constructions. Aerlyte, which combines composites expertise and proprietary IP to introduce new material systems that increase performance while reducing conversion costs, is using this thermoplastic sandwich material to design multi-piece hybrid cargo boxes for pickup trucks.
This product is designed to bring about significant improvements in several key areas:
- Reduced mass: By utilizing advanced materials and design, we've reduced the weight of automotive components, enhancing fuel efficiency and overall performance.
- Reduced cost and package space: Our solution optimizes packaging efficiency, saving valuable space and reducing costs throughout the supply chain.
- Increased cargo volume: The innovative design allows for a larger cargo volume, offering more utility to drivers and businesses.
- Enhanced load-carrying capacity: Our composite materials provide the strength needed for heavier loads without compromising on safety.
- Serviceable design: Easy maintenance and repairability ensure a longer lifespan for automotive components.
- Excellent impact resistance: Our organosheets allow for an exceptionally robust end product withstanding impact and the elements.
