The members of the Thermal Insulation Association of Canada (TIAC) is comprised of professionals in the manufacturing, fabrication, distribution and installation of insulation materials. They determined that the insulation data published across Canada was inconsistent, reflecting wide variations among industry participants including the “design-build” community, insulation manufacturers, trade associations, contractors and individual owners or clients
They decided to compile a “Best Practices Guide” that was more consistent and could be utilized for mechanical insulation projects across the country. The idea was to improves the economics and quality of the product supplied to the nation’s insulation customers while improving the time required to estimate the accuracy of contracts tendered by contractors. The result was a document that provides useful information for project planners beyond the borders of the country that compiled it.
