Getting More Women Involved Through NWiR Training

2022 JM Pinnacle Contractor Rackley Roofing hosted a training for their local National Women in Roofing (NWiR) chapter’s spring meeting at Rackley Roofing University. The event was sponsored by our local sales agent team (Larimer Shannon Group) and
JM.

Michelle Boykin and Megan Malone were the Rackley Roofing hosts. Megan did a great job organizing the overall event, and Rackley Roofing President Curtis Sutton also spent some time with the group. Our JM sales team catered a Lunch and Learn, with Dave Pratt and Dan Hollis giving the 18 attendees an industry and supply chain update, a Roofing 101 overview as well as a codes update.

After the presentation, the group participated in hands-on TPO training sessions. JM’s Jeff Kramer and Derrick McKinney did a first-class job both preparing for and conducting the training. The group then divided into four smaller groups and rotated through stations focused on seam welding, corners, patches and other detail work. Two female Rackley installers joined Jeff and Derrick to run the training stations. It was great to see the overall attendee engagement with the Rackley installers; the event highlighted that the roofing industry is an option for anyone!
