Sproule WR-1200 is often specified for high-temperature applications up to 1200°F that may be subject to moisture or moist air triggering corrosion under insulation (CUI). Its hydrophobic properties make it an ideal insulation solution in high-humidity environments.
It is a top performer when tested in accordance with ASTM C1617 with the added benefit of hydrophobicity up to 450°F. This means that at temperatures below 450°F, liquid water penetrating the vapor barrier will not permeate through the insulation to reach the metal surface.
