Lewiston Plant Holds Annual Car Wash in Support of the Maine Special Olympics

The Lewiston, ME plant held its annual volunteer car wash on Saturday, May 20th, 2017 to benefit the Maine Special Olympics. Plant analyst, Dorian Vincent and his wife Chris started the initiative with JM to support the Special Olympics in 2014. This was the third consecutive year that JM has supported them and the plant hopes to continue supporting this cause for many years to come.

Chris said, “Once again, Johns Manville stepped in and supported our Special Olympics athletes by holding a car wash at our offices.  The weather held and the turnout was great.  The JM team raised enough money to send six athletes to compete in the state’s annual games in June.  These athletes otherwise would not have had the funds to do so.  This weekend means a great deal to them and they look forward to it every year.  The support provided by JM goes beyond the financial benefit and we appreciate the company’s ongoing efforts!”

The effort raised $555 and the JM team is honored to have supported six Special Olympic athletes and their journey to the games in June.
