Johns Manville Recognized as a 2017 “Partners of Choice” Award Recipient by David Weekley Homes

Johns Manville (JM), a global building products manufacturer and a Berkshire Hathaway company, has been honored as a “Partner of Choice” by David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held residential homebuilder. This year, the esteemed and highly selective “Partners of Choice” award recognized 25 of the homebuilder’s strongest performing suppliers as part of its rigorous supplier evaluation platform. For the fourth consecutive year, JM earned the highest rating for excellence in product quality and customer service and is the only insulation manufacturer to earn the honor.

“Johns Manville has accomplished a truly remarkable feat by earning the highest ‘Partners of Choice’ rating four years in a row,” said Bill Justus, Vice President of Supply Chain Services at David Weekley Homes and developer of the homebuilder’s unique evaluation process. “This year we evaluated more than 200 companies that we work with through our unique rating system, and Johns Manville continues to raise the bar in product quality and customer service. Their continued commitment to our partnership allows the David Weekley Homes team to achieve our purpose of building dreams, enhancing lives for our customers and our community.”

David Weekley Homes implemented its comprehensive supplier evaluation system and the industry acclaimed “Partners of Choice” awards in 2004. The unique evaluation platform allows David Weekley Homes to analyze supplier performance across multiple, diverse industries, provide feedback to its partners at any time or level and to recognize outstanding suppliers. Under this process, David Weekley Homes team members are first asked to rate each supplier’s performance in product quality and service. Then, through a series of one-on-one discussions, follow-up and coaching calls, and strategic planning sessions, David Weekley Homes and its suppliers identify the best way to achieve excellence together.

“We are truly honored to be recognized by David Weekley Homes, and look forward to continuing our objective of providing customers with top-tier products, solutions and service for years to come,” said Keith Chambers, National Builder Sales Manager at JM. “Our team works hard to provide high quality products and exceptional customer service, and we are thankful that our partnership with David Weekley Homes allows us to recognize the employees interacting with customers every day.”

JM opened for business nearly 160 years ago and offers a complete and growing line of insulation products to meet home builder and contractor needs. For more information, visit www.jm.com.
