JM Roofing Offers 101 Training on Popular Membranes and Insulation

Contractors looking to build up their roofing knowledge need to go no further than the coffee shop.

JM recently joined forces with Roofers Coffee Shop, partnering to deliver a series of Lunch & Learn talks on the components of quality roofing systems. The informal webinar chats, which run an hour or less, are dedicated to educating and informing viewers about products, services and more. Roofers Coffee Shop also provides discussion documents, so contractor teams “can have lively conversation” during their lunch hours, as well as interactive quizzes, completion certificates and a chance to win pizza lunches.

In the webinars, JM product managers chat with Roofers Coffee Shop President Heidi Ellsworth to discuss insulation, coverboards and membranes, and the advantages of each when used in roofing systems.

Jeff Job, Polyiso product manager, for example, joined Ellsworth for “Insulation and Coverboard 101” to discuss types of insulation, coverboards and the overall application and benefits of ISO coverboards.

Other webinars are:

  • “EPDM 101,” in which EPDM Product Manager Curt Friedholdt delved into the history, installation and benefits of EPDM roofing systems.
  • “Modified Bitumen Roofing 101,” which featured Bituminous Product Manager Jacob Heaps outlining modified bitumen membranes, systems and installation.
  • “What is PVC Roofing?”, during which PVC Product Manager Brandon Mark talked about PVC single-ply roofing, its history and where it stands in overall commercial roofing market share.

Job had nothing but praise for the experience and Roofers Coffee Shop.

“As someone who has followed the RCS for years, I've always appreciated their interviews and commentary from industry experts. With that in mind, I was very appreciative of the opportunity to be interviewed,” he said. “The RCS team was great to work with, their communication about the process and expectations was very helpful. Having an engaged interviewer, who knows the industry, made it feel like a typical conversation, a very relaxed environment."
