JM Leaders Pack Six Tons of Food During Volunteer Event

Johns Manville leaders, including CEO Bob Wamboldt, spent an afternoon volunteering recently at the Food Bank of the Rockies. The leaders were in Denver for an annual summer meeting of all Directors and Senior Leadership Team members.

“You guys rocked it!” a Food Bank staff member told the JMers. “You gave us your most valuable asset which is your time. We couldn’t do it without you.”

The Food Bank of the Rockies is the largest hunger relief organization in the Rocky Mountain region. The organization covers half of the counties in Colorado and all of Wyoming, distributing upwards of 178,000 meals daily.

That effort includes providing provide food and necessities to more than 800 Hunger Relief Partners. These partner organizations then provide their local communities with the food, necessities and support they need to thrive.

The JM group worked one full afternoon at the Food Bank. In that time, JMers packed 454 boxes with 13,256 pounds of food. Those boxes will serve 10,715 meals.
