Johns Manville offers filter media solutions for cabin air and engine air intake applications. Products for the automotive air filtration industry are typically custom-made, which requires intensive collaboration with our customers to meet stringent and challenging requirements. JM is an expert in designing filter media based on our polyester spunbond and our new bico spunbond technologies.
The JM filter media portfolio covers carrier materials as well as stand-alone filter media.
The key product characteristics of our carrier materials include high dimensional stability, pleatability and superior stiffness. Carrier products using our new bico spunbond technology feature extraordinary stiffness, even at low-area weights. The inherent properties of our carrier materials allow for high speed pleating processes, which result in perfect pleat shape.
Our stand-alone filter media are mainly produced using our new bico spunbond technology. Beside the beneficial mechanical properties, these materials show low pressure drop and high dust holding capacities. High filtration efficiencies are achieved by using fine fibers and by electrostatical charging. Also, the stand-alone filter media are well suited for high machine speeds.
For the production of filter elements, JM offers solutions for filter frame/edge banding applications. Higher area weight material offers unique mechanical characteristics, making it perfectly suited for adding the desired strength to filter elements.
