Twenty-Five Johns Manville Facilities Earn National Safety Council Awards

Johns Manville (JM) is pleased to announce that 25 of its U.S. facilities earned the National Safety Council (NSC) Occupational Excellence Achievement Award for outstanding safety achievements in 2012.

“Since 2005, JM has demonstrated sustained safety performance with 22 to 29 U.S. plants receiving the NSC Occupational Excellence Achievement Award, and 10 plants consistently being recognized year after year,” said Manager of Occupational Health Jim Smith.

The twenty five U.S.-based JM plants that were presented with awards include Belgrade, Mont.; Bremen, Ind.; Defiance, Ohio (2 locations); Edison, N.J.; Etowah, Tenn.; Fernley, Nev.; Hazle Township, Pa.; Jacksonville, Fla. Denver, Colo.; Lewiston, Maine; Macon, Ga.; Penbryn, N.J.; Plattsburg, N.Y.; Richland, Miss.; Richmond, Ind.; Richmond, Va.; Rockdale, Ill.; Scottsboro, Ala.; Spartanburg, Tenn.; Tracy, Calif. Tucson, Ariz.; Waterville, Ohio (2 locations); and Willows, Calif.

In addition, JM’s Scottsboro facility earned the NSC Industry Leader Award last August, which recognizes outstanding safety achievements of NSC members and represents the top 5 percent of member companies that have qualified for the NSC 2012 Occupational Excellence Achievement Award. The NSC awarded 38 organizations with the 2012 Industry Leader Award based on 2011 data.
