Johns Manville Customer-Focused Web Sites Recognized for Excellence

Johns Manville (JM), a leading global manufacturer of energy-efficient building products, announced top awards and recognition for two of the company’s latest customer-focused Web sites, SpecJM.com and JMHomeowner.com.

A resource for industry professionals, SpecJM.com received “Best Construction Website” from the Web Marketing Association and was also recognized as one of the “Top 10 Websites” by B2B Magazine, a Crain Communications Publication. JMHomeowner.com, as a resource for homeowners, received the “Manufacturing Standard of Excellence” award from the Web Marketing Association.

In 2007, JM had 10 separate Web sites, each addressing specific products and typically, different audiences. “With SpecJM.com, the team worked to create a one-stop shop for the JM customers who install JM products, as well as the professionals who specify our product in their buildings and houses,” said Joelle Patten, JM Web and e-Business manager.

“By combining information from these 10 sites, our customers can now more easily find the product information and specifications, technical information to do their job,” noted Patten. The site also enhances JM’s presence in global search engines by creating one powerful site with a lot of rich content.

“Since the consolidation of the of the disparate Web properties we’ve literally seen user engagement rise significantly,” noted Patten. “Our customers are spending more time on the site, utilizing more of the resources available to them and most importantly, we’ve been able to extend the JM brand to them in a way that is meaningful to their business.”

JMHomeowner.com was built specifically with the home owner and do-it-yourselfer in mind. The site educates consumers regarding insulation and its benefits such as indoor air quality, energy efficiency, noise reduction and ability to help maintain consistent temperatures and provides “how to” videos to help them with their own projects.
