APPLICATIONS

Glass fibers for gypsum wallboards are applicated in the manufacturing by dry feeding or wet feeding processes.

Dry feed process
In the dry feed process the glass fibers are directly fed into the gypsum slurry using loss in weight feeding systems. Johns Manville offers the following products for this application: DuraCore^® SF Plus, DuraCore^® SF and DuraCore^® SFW.

For the reinforcement of fire-rated gypsum wallboards Johns Manville has developed the DuraCore^® SF Plus glass fiber. The new product achieves superior flow consistency in the feeder by eliminating fiber clumps and fuzz:
