Denver, Colorado (2/1/1997) --- Johns Manville (JM), a leading manufacturer of fiber glass insulation, offers a complete line of foam insulation products with user-friendly features popular in both the DIY and professional markets.
JM's foam insulations include: AP foil-faced sheathing, extRa puncture resistant sheathing and NailBase and VentBoard roof insulations.
AP foil-faced sheathing board is composed of a foam core, bonded on each side to a trilaminate foil-facer that produces the highest degree of insulating efficiency. Designed to expedite installation, AP foil faced is lightweight, easy-to-handle and can be cut with a knife or saw. This product is superior when high thermal efficiency is required and improves the overall thermal efficiency of the wall by reducing thermal bridging at the framing members where fiber glass batts can't insulate.
ExtRa Puncture Resistant rigid foam sheathing was developed to meet industry demands for a quality, thermal-efficient insulation panel. It features a durable puncture-resistant surface that provides water resistance and eliminates wicking. ExtRa, bonded on each side to glass fiber reinforced polymer facers, is lightweight, easy to handle and can be cut easily by the installer.
NailBase is a rigid, nailable roof insulation composed of foam core bonded to a seamless sheet of oriented strand board (OSB) on one side and to a fiber-reinforced facer on the other. Incorporation of seamless sheets of OSB virtually eliminates the splitting of the NailBase panel during handling and increases durability and integrity of the insulation system.
VentBoard is a foam insulation panel with a moisture-resistant, glass-reinforced facer bonded to both sides. It has a flat bottom side and a contoured top which provide a ventilated air space when covered by a rigid nailable surface. By combining thermally efficient insulation with ventilation channels, VentBoard addresses the concerns about shingle performance and unventilated roof decks. VentBoard also needs no special tools for installation and allows the builder freedom to overlay plywood or oriented strand board as needed.
