Q:  Do Johns Manville products contain asbestos?

A:  Asbestos has not been used as a raw ingredient in the manufacture of any Johns Manville products since 1985. Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral. As with other natural minerals, asbestos may be found in trace amounts in many materials. Asbestos can even be detected in the background air in many areas of the world. If sufficiently sensitive analytical techniques are used asbestos can be found almost anywhere, including as impurities in current Johns Manville Products. Any detectable amount would be below Federal hazard communication reporting requirements.
