Chemical Laboratory Assistant

Chemical Laboratory Assistants are team-oriented, working in close cooperation with our internal research, development and production laboratories.

They independently conduct analysis and quality control, synthesis and take measurements. They schedule laboratory operations, log work and evaluate results. In their work, they are very responsible for taking account of the rules and regulations relating to work safety, health, environmental protection, and quality assurance.

During your apprenticeship, you will learn more about scientific research and development expand your specialized knowledge and skills to suit the operational priorities of Johns Manville, and enabling you to carry out various tasks in a team and project-oriented manner.

Required Qualifications:

Educated to  GCSE (Mittlere Reife), advanced technical college entrance qualification or general qualification for university entrance

Interest in scientific processes

Duration and Location of Apprenticeship      

3.5 years in Wertheim – Vocational School in Stuttgart (divided into teaching blocks).

Why Chemical Laboratory Assistant

During your apprenticeship you will be assigned to the Quality Control and Research and Development Departments and the in-house laboratories.  You will work on various chemical pilot projects in which you will analyze our products. You will learn how to statistically evaluate your findings and to document your results.

Your Prospects

Once you have completed your apprenticeship you have the opportunity to use your skills in one of our specialist departments. You will also be able to complete advanced training, giving you the qualifications needed to advance to technician or foreman specialized in chemistry.
